“Zon op de Zwijger” is a Dutch competition for the most innovative solutions for solar technology on the roof of Warehouse ‘De Zwijger’ in Amsterdam. In the competition, the participants had maximum freedom for creativity and innovation. The winner will –together with the promotors of the contest– actually realize the design in spring 2015!
The competition started in September 2015 and 15 parties filed asubmission.
Three finalists, including TULiPPS/SUMMIT, competed on December 2 to win the competition. TULiPPS came in second place with the COSMOS modules.
The jury gave an honorable mention to the submission of TULiPPS. This cutting-edge technology was the best innovative player among the entries. The jury has tremendous confidence that this Dutch entry will conquer rooftops in the future. The jury therefore works together with “De Groene Grachten” looking for another roof on which this design can be realized. Several ‘roofs’ are already interested!

The 15 entries for a solar power system at Warehouse “De Zwijger” demonstrates the broad spectrum of opportunities to play with new and existing technologies and the construction of a complete system. They range from solid, yet surprisingly innovative and daring to visionary and “out of the box”. The jury had a huge challenging task to compare all the entries, selecting a top 3 and to choose a winner.
