An industrial consortium around TULiPPS Solar has received EU funding of around four million euros. In recent years, Solar Magazine has published several times about TULiPPS Solar. On the cover of Solar Magazine in March 2013, the latest prototype was shown by director Paul Stassen. Stassen already won a Dutch Solar Award with his company. According to Stassen, the new EU subsidy is an important step towards the mass production of his product.
The fund has been made available for building and validating the new smart lightweight PV modules. The EU project bears the title SUMMIT. In the coming three years, the consortium will demonstrate the industrial production possibilities of the new PV modules. The main partners are from the Netherlands, namely:
– Femtogrid Energy Solutions from Amsterdam
– The Fraunhofer Institute from Pfinztal, Germany
– IBC SOLAR from Schinnen
– Rimas Technology Group from Beringe
– Kiwa Italy from Milan, Italy
– Uniresearch BV from Delft
– Yparex BV from Geleen
